Weekend Roundup June 6-7 | Sayville Patchogue Moms

Saturday June 6th:

10am Virtual Drag Queen Story Hour

Join Yuhua Hamasaki for a virtual Drag Queen Story Hour, with stories and songs for kids ages 3-8! The video will be available to watch at https://www.nypl.org/education/kids/storytime until NYPL The New York Public Library branches reopen. This program is funded by City Council Member Keith Powers.

Drag Queen Story Hour NYC provides a range of fun and fabulous educational experiences for children and teens from 3 to 18 years old in libraries, schools, museums, and community spaces in all five boroughs of New York City. Through storytelling and creativity, DQSH teaches children about gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable. https://www.dqshnyc.org/

10am CNN + Sesame Street Town Hall to Address Racism

The show will talk to kids about racism, the recent nationwide protests, embracing diversity and being more empathetic and understanding.
Big Bird will join CNN commentator Van Jones and CNN anchor and national correspondent Erica Hill to moderate the event. They will be joined by “Sesame Street” characters — including Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Rosita — and other experts answering questions submitted by families.
