This weekend is JAM PACKED with so much good stuff. Fall is my favorite season because of all the Fall Festivals and opportunities to dress your kiddos up and go celebrate Halloween (over and over again!). I feel like I need a personal assistant to make my itinerary for the weekend because I want to do ALL THE THINGS. Hope to see you out and about! The Great Give Back

The Great Give Back is a community service initiative created by the Suffolk County Public Library Directors Association and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, in conjunction with the Nassau Library System.

The mission of The Great Give Back is to provide a day of opportunities for the patrons of the Public Libraries of New York State to participate in meaningful, service-oriented experiences.

 

Our local libraries have a TON of good stuff going on this weekend to celebrate so you and the fam can spend some quality time together while doing something nice for others! Check out everything that is going on locally below:

Sayville Public Library

Community Breakfast

We will be making busy kits for the pediatrics unit for Stony Brook Hospital and collecting food and toiletries for the local food bank.
While walk-ins are accepted, registering first would be preferred.

Town of Islip Apple Festival

It’s that time of year again. Our department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs invites one and all to help celebrate the Autumn season with the 2019 Town of Islip Apple Festival, to be hosted Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm! Come down to the Islip Grange located at 10 Broadway Ave. in Sayville, for an afternoon of Fall fun filled with over 300 Craft Vendors, amusement rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin picking, food court, games, contests and much more!

Patchogue Fall Festival

This year’s fun fall festival will include a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, face painting and vendors.

A costume parade for children, 12-years-old and younger, will begin at 2 p.m. in front of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. Craft activities will be provided by the Patchogue-Medford Library.

The 7th annual chili and chowder tasting contest will also take place in conjunction with the festival. The chowder contest will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the chili contest will be from 2-5 p.m. Beer tastings will be available from noon to 5 p.m. (Must be 21+ to participate)

The Oar of Patchogue’s 12th Annual Fall Festival

It’s that time of year again and we hope you’re all as excited as we are – it’s time for the 12th Annual Fall Festival! On Sunday, October 20th, head down to The Oar with your friends and family to have a fun-filled Fall day!

There will be – face painting, pumpkin painting, Long Island roasted corn, make your own candy apples, seasonal beer & wine, live band, BBQ, popcorn and kid’s bounce house!

Trunk or Treat

Bayport United Methodist Church welcomes all families throughout the community to celebrate Halloween at its fourth annual ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ held Sunday, Oct. 20, from 3 to 5 p.m., on the church grounds at 482 Middle Road, Bayport. There is no cost to attend. Families can bring their children in costume (the adults can dress up, too) for a festive and safe Halloween event. Children will trick-or-treat for candy and other goodies around the church’s parking lot where many cars will be decorated with festive themes. Trunk-or-Treaters can play games and vote for their favorite trunk. Complimentary refreshments, including hot dogs, will be served.
