Meet Stephanie of Camp New for Kids | Sayville Patchogue Moms

How many kids do you have and what are their ages/anything else you would like to share about your kid(s)?

I have a 4-year-old daughter named Aria and my son Jagger is almost 2 years old. Aria is sweet, sassy, silly and strong-willed. Jagger is outgoing, precocious, funny and wild! They are both full of energy and absolutely love playing at Camp New For Kids. You can see them all over my business account pages!

What do you want or wish most for your kids?

I always pray for health and happiness for my children. I wish that they are always happy and fulfilled, no matter where life takes them. I also wish that they remain close throughout their lives. I am very close to my one sister and I hope that they share that same special sibling bond forever.

Why did you decide to launch your business? / Why did you choose your profession?

I have taught public high school orchestra for 15 years but have been on leave this past year. I have been lucky to get to spend so much quality time at home with my kids and have explored many fun places across the island with them. During this time, my husband and I came up with the idea of starting our own play place closer to where we live that would also be convenient for other families in Suffolk county. A small idea quickly became a serious business and I am so happy to be able to provide a fun, spacious play space for our community.

What are three words you would use to describe your business/profession & why?

I would describe Camp New For Kids as fun, interactive and inclusive. Nothing makes us happier than hearing that our visitors had a ton of fun in our space. We love when both kids and parents interact with each other and make new friends. We welcome all children from infants to young elementary-aged kids, including our special needs community of children.

Tell us more about your business!

Camp New For Kids is a spacious children’s play gym offering open play sessions, themed events, soccer programs, pop-up classes, birthday parties and private play dates. Activities at Camp New include an indoor playground, sports equipment, sensory toys, bubbles and a coloring & craft corner.

What motivates you?

I am partially very self-motivated; I have always put pressure on myself to do the best job I possibly can and put in 100% effort into all that I do. But a lot of my motivation also comes from my husband. He has always pushed me to be the best version of myself, to step out of my comfort zone and to be confident in myself. I owe the inspiration and motivation of starting this business to him.

Define Motherhood in your own words.

Motherhood is a mixture of pure joy, unconditional love, and exhaustion. It is a wonderful sacrifice and the best gift in the world. It is the most difficult job yet the most purposeful, fulfilling and rewarding. It is constantly questioning yourself and feeling the mom-guilt but being overwhelmed with so much love and gratitude at the same time.
