Meet Thalia of Brugger & Company - Sayville Patchogue Moms

How many kids do you have and what are their ages/anything else you would like to share?

I have one little boy, KB, who is two going on teen. He is funny, he literally says “I funny,” and makes me laugh constantly. He’s so inquisitive and free spirited. He’s focused when performing a task and expressive when he is trying to explain something. He is super helpful and I love when he gets involved in my small business by helping me cleanup my balloon messes. He definitely makes his momma proud everyday.

Why did you decide to launch your business?

I launched my business in August of 2021. I’ve always loved decorating and was motivated by my sister-in-love’s 30th birthday celebration. Then, my mother-in-love was like, just start already, and sent my first client my way. From then on, I have been learning and growing and loving every second! I launched my business out of a desire to grow. I work in the medical field and put school on hold to be more present with my little one. I wanted to be able to play with him without the stress of a test. With Brugger&Company I am able to incorporate him in the process and he loves being mommy’s little helper.

Tell us more about your business!

Brugger&Company Balloons and Event Decor is all about the joy of the celebration! I love to work with each client to bring to life their party dreams with beautiful balloon garlands and customized styling services. I’m here to help you celebrate the joy filled moments in your life.

What motivates you?

The desire to do better. I don’t want to be stagnant and idle. I want to experience growth as a person; growth as a mom, as a wife, as a small business owner. That can mean being successful or failing, all in all, I want to be proud of the growth I’ve achieved and I want my son and future little ones to be proud I am their mom.

What is the best mom advice you have received?

It seems cliche, but the best advice I received was to cherish each moment because it goes by fast. My gosh has it gone by fast! KB will only be a toddler for 4 years of his entire life, and 2 years have already flown by. After those 4 years he will be looking for as much independence as possible. I will definitely hold dear these moments of him calling for his momma for everything.

Define Motherhood in your own words.

For me and my experience, motherhood is ultimate selflessness from a place of love. I’m a young and new mom but you learn fast that your needs are not primary anymore. Don’t get me wrong, you need to take care of yourself and your own needs for the sake of sanity, but I give up so that KB can have and that fills me with joy. Only motherhood can make selfless sacrifices a positive when the world around you tells you sacrifice is a negative.
