What do you love most about living on Long Island?
I love living on Long Island because you are never too far from anything. There’s a little bit of everything to experience. You have beaches, parks, out east, the city, the North Fork, the South shore. Not to mention great food and restaurants.
How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have two kids, my daughter is 8 in 3rd grade and my son is 4 in preschool.
What do you want or wish most for your kids?
I want my kids to learn to be happy. Not because they get what they want or always win, but to genuinely learn how to see the positive even when things don’t work out, and to be thankful when they do.
Why did you decide to launch your business?
One of my first jobs was in a bakery. I worked there for almost 10 years. I have always loved to bake and cook and have always been into art and trying to find ways to be creative. After my daughter was born in 2013 I ended up not going back to work. While preparing for her Baptism, I planned on buying cookies as favors but instead decided to try my hand at making them myself. It just basically took off from there.
What is the best mom advice you can give?
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Being a mom (parent) is not an easy job. Some days are great and you feel like a pro and others days can leave you feeling guilt and inadequacy. You just do the best you can each day. I try and remember that I am growing and learning at the same time as my kids.
What is your favorite go to dinner recipe when you are short on time?
When we are short on time, our go to is always breakfast for dinner. It’s quick and easy and the kids love it. Mostly eggs, sometimes pancakes, add in some fruit and done! If all else fails, we are surrounded by great places to order from.
