Laura is a mom of three and is also the co-founder of The Nesting Place, a supportive non-judgmental environment for Long Island moms to gather, share, and grow alongside one another.

 

What do you love most about living on Long Island?

After moving away from Long Island at the age of 12, I swore I’d never move back but we are now so grateful to be raising our children by the ocean in a place with unlimited opportunities to explore both nature and other types of fun. The wineries, too.

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

I have three kids, ages 5 and 3 year old twins

 

Why did you decide to launch your business?

Long Island needed a place made for parents to gather and connect with each other and amazing supportive professionals.

Tell us more about The Nesting Place.

The Nesting Place is a place where growing families can come to feel safe, have fun, and meet like-minded people. We offer a mix of educational and supportive resources with a lot of fun and good company mixed in.

 

What motivates you?

The moms. I love seeing mothers find their way after they open themselves up to community and resources. Of course I love the babies too but it’s the amazing mothers for me. The people I have met through The Nesting Place motivate me every single day.

What is the best advice you can give to another mom?

My advice is to take care of you first. You are where it started and your family and children will be better off if you are supported, loved, rested and nourished. Go easy on yourself, you are doing your best, and they will always remember that you loved them.
