Surprisingly fun COVID-friendly outing ideas

After almost a year of social distancing, most of us are starting to lose our minds a little bit. There are only so many zoom classes and backyard play sessions one can handle. Here are some surprisingly fun out of the box ideas to keep the cabin fever at bay:

  1. A trip to the carwash

Sounds ridiculous but hear me out. Your kid can help you vacuum the car and that is loads of fun for them plus good for you (who doesn’t have a floor full of cracker crumbs?) and then you can drive through the car-wash which is a fun, socially distant adventure! Personal Touch in Bohemia has free vacuums and a totally contact-free car wash experience.

2. Ninja Gifting

We have started a hobby of dropping little gifts or notes off on friends and family’s doorstep and then running really fast back to the car, honking really loud and then driving away. We call it Ninja gifting. Lets make it a thing. #ninjagifting

3. Car picnics

Take a trip to Sonic in Babylon and watch them bring your order out on roller-skates then eat the food in your car. Sounds lame but kids think it is the coolest, trust me.

4. Visit Long Island tourist attractions

Taking long, aimless Sunday drives are a new family favorite activity. From the Big Duck to the Lighthouse we have been checking out the sights we’ve always taken for granted.
