What is your name?
Hi! I’m Dr. Lindsay Alimena, owner and orthodontist at Bayport
Orthodontics.
How many kids do you each have and what are their ages?
I have two boys, a 6-year-old and almost 4-year-old, who definitely
keep life fun and busy!
.
What is your favorite thing about the Sayville Patchogue Area?
I love the sense of community here. It truly feels like people show up for one another
whether it’s supporting local businesses, school events, sports, or fundraisers. It’s
such a family-oriented area, and that’s exactly why I wanted to live and build my
practice here.
Tell us about your business – name and services offered!
I’m the owner of Bayport Orthodontics, a modern orthodontic practice focused on creating healthy, confident smiles for both children and adults.
We offer:
● Braces
● Invisalign
● Early orthodontic treatment
● Adult orthodontics
● Growth and airway-focused evaluations
● Personalized treatment plans using advanced technology
My goal was to create an office that feels welcoming, comfortable, and truly
patient-centered.

What inspired you to start your business?
Opening my own practice was always a dream of mine. After years of school,
residency, and working as an associate, I wanted to create a space where I could
provide the kind of experience and care I would want for my own family.
I also wanted the flexibility to build something meaningful while still being present for
my children and involved in my community.
What do you love about your business/favorite part of what you do?
My favorite part is building relationships with patients and families over time.
Orthodontic treatment is a journey, and I love getting to watch patients grow
in confidence throughout the process. I also genuinely enjoy creating a
positive experience for kids who may feel nervous coming into the office.
Seeing them leave smiling is the best feeling.
How has motherhood influenced your business journey?
Motherhood has completely changed the way I approach patient care. It’s made me
more understanding, patient, and intentional about creating an experience that works
for busy families. As a mom, I understand how valuable time is, how important
communication is, and how much trust parents place in healthcare providers. I carry
that perspective into my office every day.
What makes your business unique?
Bayport Orthodontics combines advanced technology with a very personalized,
community-focused experience. I really wanted families to feel comfortable, cared
for, and known when they walk through the door.
What advice would you give to another mom?
My advice to another mom is to remember that every season of life is different.
Some seasons are focused on growth, some are centered around family, and some
are simply about getting through a busy chapter. Give yourself permission to
embrace the season you’re in without feeling like everything needs to be perfect.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best advice I’ve gotten from another mom is that your children don’t
need a perfect mom, they need a present one. That reminder has helped me focus on what matters most and let go of some of the pressure we put
on ourselves.
Anything else you’d like to share!
I’m incredibly grateful for the support the local community has already shown Bayport
Orthodontics. As both a mom and a small business owner, it means so much to be
able to serve families in the community where we live and raise our children.
I’m excited to continue building relationships and creating smiles here for years to
come!
