Bayport

Bayport Beach
Paulanna Avenue, Bayport
Features: Bayport Beach is located at the end of Paulanna Avenue in Bayport. This small beach is home to a fishing dock, beautiful gazebo and playground complete with a play structure, swings, spring airplanes and climb-on dinosaurs. Dedicated to the memory of fallen Suffolk County Police Officer Glen L. Ciano, this town beach is maintained throughout the season with a lifeguard on duty from 10 a.m. –6p.m

Good for: Smaller children, families also looking to spend time at a small beach

Corey Beach Park
1 Corey Ave, Blue Point
Features: Beachfront location, a giant sandbox, and a playground area with equipment featuring sea designs and shell-like architecture, this is an ideal spring and summer destination for families. This Town of Brookhaven facility features other fun attractions, including a wire climb and a rock-climbing wall. There are ladders and stairs on which children can climb. It also has a comfy cabin for visitors to enjoy the park and find shelter from the sun and rain, and there are additional sun-blocking screens with benches throughout the park.

Good for: Smaller children, families also looking to spend time at a small beach

Bayshore

Bay Shore Marina/ Shipwreck Cove Spray Park
150 S. Clinton Avenue, Bay Shore
Features: a large spray playground with a pirate themed structure at the center of a shallow pool-clothes that can get wet are a must! The sprinkler features and the slides leading down into the shallow pool are perfect for warm summer days. There is also a regular playground, picnic area, new boardwalk and benches, and the marina is also where Nicky’s on the Bay is located, an outside concession with casual dining and views of the marina.

Good for: Small children and any big kids looking to cool down and are ok with it not being a true water park.

Benjamin’s Beach
 South Clinton Ave, Bay Shore
Features: Located at the end of South Clinton Avenue and is part of the Bay Shore Marina Park. The beach is officially open June 28th – September 1st, with lifeguards on duty from 10am-6pm. The playground, located on the beach, is in superb condition. Close to all the amenities in the Marina Park.

Good for: All ages, anyone looking to spend time at the beach

 

Anthony Casamento Park
65 Muncey Road, Bay Shore
Features: A playground, pickleball court, court games, swimming pool, wading pool, and picnic area.

Good for: The whole family

 

East Islip

Brookwood Hall
50 Irish Lane, East Islip
Features: a playground with monkey bars, rock climb, bouncers, rubber ground, and a fenced in area. Part of a larger park that contains Brookwood Hall, tennis and bocci courts, Knapps lake, and a garden.

Good
for: Kids of all ages, especially those who benefit from a park that is fenced in

 

East Islip Marina Park Playground
333 Bayview Ave, East Islip
Features: this small beach playground has access to the beach, and a restaurant, showers, and bathrooms adjacent.

Good for: smaller children, a picnic

Heckscher State Park Playground
1 Heckscher State Parkway, East Islip
Features: This is a very large park with multiple fields featuring different playgrounds. Field 6 has views of the water and picnic tables.

Good for: Kids of all ages-most playgrounds have a big kid and a little kid section

 

South Shore Nature Center
130 Bayview Ave, East Islip
Features: Although there is no playground, this nature preserve is beautiful and includes a variety of habitats, nature trails, a butterfly garden, and offers instructional classes.

Good for: Exploring and relaxing

 

Commack Road Park
Commack Road, Islip
Features: popular pocket park located on Commack Road in Islip. This neighborhood park provides a playground and field that can be used for many activities.

Good for: the whole family

Lake Ronkonkoma

Lake Ronkonkoma County Park
600 Lakeshore Road, Lake Ronkonkoma
Features: This scenic park offers a variety of recreational opportunities to the public. The facilities include a fishing area, baseball fields, handball courts, basketball courts, a handicapped accessible playground, and a picnic area.

Good For: Families

Mt Sinai

Heritage Park
633 Mount Sinai-Coram Rd
Features: Baseball field, softball fields, Multi-purpose fields, Big kid playground & Toddler size playground with multiple swings, a walking trail wrapping around the entire park.

Good For: Kids of all Ages, family relaxation & stroller walking.

North Shore Trail Rail
Crystal Brook Hallow Rd
Features: 10.4 mile Bike/Trail path. ADA compliant trail is 30ft wide with a 10ft paved section. Dogs are allowed to be walked on leashes and must be picked up after.

Good For: walkers of all kinds

Cedar Beach Playground
Harbor Bead Rd
Features: located on the Long Island Sound. It offers two beach areas, a concession, playground, basketball courts, walking trail, fishing pier, marina, and boat launch ramps.

Good For: the whole family, beach lovers
 

Oakdale

Tulip Ave Park
Tulip Ave, Oakdale
Features:Tulip Avenue Park is a pocket park located on Tulip Avenue in Oakdale. This charming park offers a playground, swing sets and shade covered bench seating.

Good For: Small Children

Patchogue

Father Tortora
Central Avenue & East 3rd Street, Patchogue
Features: A fully fenced-in playground and play area that includes a covered picnic space and walking track.

 Good For: Small children

Belzak Park
Lakeland Ave, Patchogue
Features:  A large play structure and swings on a rubber surface

Good For: Smaller children

Shorefront Park
49 Smith St, Patchogue
Features: This park is on the bay and features a playground designed to look like a pirate ship, baseball diamond, basketball court, bike trail, and walking track.

Good For: The whole family

Port Jeff

Rocketship Park
34 Roessner, Port Jefferson
Features: This park is located just off of Port Jefferson Village’s busy Main Street. Fully fenced in, this playground has a redesigned rocket ship playset with multiple slides and one of the best views of Port Jeff from the very top. The other large playset is a pirate ship that has several built-in play panels that include musical instruments, a maze, and turning gears. A large spinning climber provides even more excitement, and brand-new basketball courts offer space for older kids to shoot hoops. A covered picnic area with tables is an excellent spot for a snack or lunch.

Good For: Kids of all ages.

 

Founder’s Park

Features: a serene outdoor space that offers a peaceful retreat for visitors to enjoy nature and relax. This park provides a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls, picnics, and gatherings.

Sayville

Broadway Avenue Park

Features: Baseball field, softball fields, tennis courts, handball courts, nature trails and a playground!

Good For: Kids of all Ages

Candee Avenue Park
Candee Ave, Sayville
Features: Open field and simple playground with a wooden sea saw, animal seat. two chld swings and tire swing

Good For: Smaller Children

Cherry Ave Park
323 Cherry Ave, West Sayville
Features: A large play structure that is handicap accessible/accessible for children of all abilities

Sayville Marina Park
400  Foster Ave, Sayville
Features: 3 well-maintained tennis courts, beach, pavilion, and playground complete with slides, swings, tubes and climb on animals. There is a partially shaded walking path with picnic tables, barbeque grills, and plenty of benches along the way for those who wish to sit and relax.

Good For: The whole family, scenic picnics
